What Is an Excavator Cooler?
An excavator cooler (excavator oil cooler or radiator) removes heat from the hydraulic and engine oil of an excavator, loader or bulldozer. It is a fan-driven heat exchanger: hot oil flows through the core, a fan blows air across the fins, and the cooled oil returns to the circuit.

How an Excavator Cooler Works
- Hot hydraulic oil enters the cooler from the return line or pump.
- Oil flows through the bar and plate core, and heat transfers to the plates and fins.
- A fan blows air across the fins, carrying the heat away.
- The cooled oil returns to the tank or circuit at a safe working temperature.
